Appie is a non-profit organisation founded in loving memory of our son Lowieke, who passed away from a brain tumour at the age of six. Inspired by our own journey, we support families caring for a seriously ill child at home.

In close collaboration with Oever, the paediatric liaison and palliative care team of UZA, we provide warm “Appie moments” in the family’s home. We do not provide medical care; instead, we create moments of comfort, play, connection and lasting memories, tailored to each family’s wishes and needs.

Our activities continue to grow and include creative experiences, play sessions, home surprises and other initiatives that help families briefly escape the challenges of everyday life.

At Appie, we believe that small moments can make a world of difference. Together with Oever, we want every family to feel seen, supported and surrounded with care.
